Message From the Chair
On behalf of our competition committee, I want to thank everyone who participated in or helped to make our 2012 event such a success. This was the first year that our competition has not been held in association with another event. Our participation was up more than 62 percent from last year and we had 41 percent increase in the number of entries despite the torrential rains.
In 2013, we are planning more improvements including more tables for clubs, suppliers and vendors to sell or display carvings. We have made an arrangement with the Bobcaygeon Curling Club to hold the event each year on the second Saturday of September. Next year it will be held on Saturday, September 14th.
If you as a club, vender or supplier of carving equipment would like to reserve a table, simply click on the link to the left for a printable table application form and return it to us along with the fee no later than Wednesday, May 1st. Tables will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Fees are listed on the form.
We have two great purchase award prizes for 2013. While wood burning is now a full category in each of the novice, intermediate and open classes, based on comments from judges and others, woodburning entries will not be eligible for the best of class or best of show consideration.
